Long before this site settled into what it looks like today, it was home to thousands of tutorials on Flash, ActionScript, Silverlight, WPF, Photoshop, and the early web. Those tutorials never went away — they just stopped being linked from anywhere you could easily find. This page collects all 513 of them in one place.
Heads up: everything below is archived material. Much of it targets software that no longer runs — Flash Player, Silverlight, and Windows Phone among them. It is kept online because people still link to it and still learn from the ideas, not because the steps still work.
The largest slice of the archive. Timeline animation, drawing, ActionScript 1 through 3, and the Flash IDE across every version from Flash 5 to CS5.
A long-running series on classes, inheritance, and design patterns, written against ActionScript but largely language-agnostic.
Windows and .NET development: C# language basics, WinForms, GDI+, and assorted desktop programming topics.
XAML-era tutorials covering Expression Blend, data binding, behaviors, and animation in Silverlight and WPF.
Building apps for Windows Phone 7, from the toolchain to the application bar.
Bitmap and pixel art in Photoshop: textures, grunge brushes, text effects, and the site's own KirupaVille pixel-city project. The folder is called motiongraphics, but the tutorials are graphic design.
Early web tutorials, and something of a grab bag: markup and layout, CSS techniques, a full series on XML, plus assorted pieces on hosting, MySQL, and site building.
Electric Rain's Swift 3D, a modelling and animation tool that exported straight to Flash. Extrusion and lathe editors, cameras, materials, and publishing the result into a movie. Nothing to do with Apple's Swift.
Server-side scripting, forms, and talking to a database.
