Uttering the word Kirupa is enough to cause the most unsuspecting individual to make a dash for the nearest exit. What is it about the Kirupa that makes him a fascinating study for Native American Historians, Googlers,  Flashers, and other misfits of society?
The Kirupa, similar to the ethereal giant squid, is a very rare creature to spot and even more difficult to observe. What little we do know of Kirupa comes from the explorers who braved the extremes of cold, heat,  and possibly rush-hour traffic to bring you the following account.

Using radio-carbon dating and a copy of a Kirupa birth certificate, the earliest evidence of Kirupa began appearing around 1984 AD.  Our sources indicate that Kirupa spent the better part of a year in Salem, India, but later migrated to the frozen shores of the Island of Sardinia in Southern Italy. One must presume that the cold Italian breezes did not fare well with the  Kirupa, for he was spotted for a few years in the lush rainforests of Germany instead.

Since then, Kirupa sightings around Germany have declined while the  the sightings around the US have steadily increased. He was sighted so many times, that a small mid-western city decided to issue a 13c stamp using a suspect that looks very much like Kirupa, and the stamp can be found toward the top of this page.

While our researches show that Kirupa must have moved sometime to the USA around 1991, the eyewitness testimonies are not convincing enough for us to put our academic integrity on the line to make a definite statement.

The increasing rumors surrounding Kirupa made the name a fixture in the minds of sci-fi/calvin & hobbes fans. No longer was the name of kirupa sacrosanct to the academic & scientific community. A web site containing the name kirupa in the URL (http://www.kirupa.com) appeared with the intention of helping others learn the ways of Macromedia Flash and other bizarre applications. Cans of spam bearing his likeness were also found. Someone even wrote a book using the name of Kirupa.

Many people have messaged us with the strange notion that the real Kirupa (as opposed to the fake Kirupa), is the true author of  the book and helps maintain the kirupa.com site.  That is the last time we allow input from "people" to corrupt our methodical ways of tracking the evasive Kirupa. What do they know after all?

Our latest information comes from the Boston area where rumors persist that a one named Kirupa is going to be majoring in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (known EECS or EEKS or ROFL) at MIT.
