Swift 3D:
Publishing to FlashNow
that you have completed your 3D Vector masterpiece, it's
time to add it into a movie you created in Flash. Under most
circumstances, your Swift 3D movie should be in the form of
a .SWF file. So, trying to open the file by double clicking
it will not work. So, start Flash.
To learn how to import your
Swift 3d Movie, launch Flash. There will be no need to
modify any settings for this movie. Now, follow the steps
listed below:
- In Flash, select Insert > New Symbol. Or you can press
Ctrl + F8. Select a movie clip from the box that pops up.
See image below:
- You may name the movie like I did. But it
isn't necessary. After you press OK, you should see
another timeline similar to your main timeline. This is
the timeline for the symbol you just inserted. Now, it's
time to import the Swift 3D animation into your animation.
- Go to File > Import, and choose SWF from the
drop down menu. Navigate to the folder where your Exported
Swift 3D animation is located. See image below:
- Once you have selected the movie, press OK.
The movie should now be visible as a set of Keyframes in
your Flash timeline. You may have to delete the First
Keyframe as Flash may instruct you to.
That's all there is to import
a Swift 3D movie into your Flash movie. All you have to do
now, is to move the animation to your main layer. Click on
the icon labeled "Scene 1" on the top left corner of your
Flash window. See image below:
Once you have done that, you
should now see a blank timeline. Press Ctrl + L. From the
window that pops up, drag and drop the "movie" you created
into your drawing box. See image below:
I told you to use the "Insert
New Symbol" in the beginning, because it is easier now to
move your movie around as you wish. Importing a Swift 3D
movie can leave your movie somewhere in the movie you don't
want it. Having the movie inside a symbol makes it much
easier to edit and move your movie. To edit the movie,
simply right click on the first frame of the movie (that
should be visible) and choose Edit.
