Swift 3D: Fills

The best part of having a versatile 3D Vector editor like Swift 3D is the ability to manipulate objects in stunning textures. The ability to change lighting, shading, etc. is unparalleled and very easy to use. So, let's get started on the fills.

Open up a new drawing by clicking on File > New or the T3D icon. Once you're in the drawing window, click on the icon for the Sphere. See image below:

You should see the image of a sphere in your drawing window. I won't explain much about having to modify any of the sphere's physical elements for it isn't relevant to this lesson.

To add a Fill to the Element (sphere), simply follow these steps:

  1. Select your Element (sphere) by clicking on it with the mouse. The element should be selected (if not done already)

  2. The next step is to invoke the "Show Materials" tab. Click on the Blue sphere icon visible to the bottom right. See image below:

  1. Once you have done that, you should be able to see many tabs detailing a color or texture format. Choose any one of your liking. To add the color to your element, simply drag the colored sphere from the Preview Pane toward your main image. This is how my final example looked:

Just a final word before we wrap up. If you have a question and/or want to be part of a friendly, collaborative community of over 220k other developers like yourself, post on the forums for a quick response!
