Native 16x16 pixel art in the 8-bit icon tradition. Each subject is reduced to its essence and redrawn in the view pixel art does best, often a flat side profile. One hard black outline runs round the silhouette; inside it, parts are separated by tone, and black is kept for holes and openings, deep crevices, face features, overlaps of similar colors and line-art symbols. Solid forms take one light from the upper left; symbols, flags, print, glows, water and screens stay flat. No anti-aliasing. Every subject is hand-drawn on the 16px grid, not resized from another size.
Default icon set for the kirupa.com Pixel and Platformer styles. Every export is also published as its own file under /icon/pixel-twemoji-16/.
Files are named for the emoji, like grinning-face.svg; catalog.json gives each file's Twemoji code.
Left out: pregnant man (1fac3), merman (1f9dc-200d-2642-fe0f).
109 face, 1465 sprite, 103 glyph, 270 flag drawings.
No third-party reference images are included or traced.
