and once again.... php or xml and how?

guys, i need to figure out how to set up a simple posting feature of the main page on my site, so that i can write a txt file and show it as a "post" on the main page... would xml "data islands" work for this? or is there a simple php tutorial for this that i can use?

PHP or XML isn't really a logical question. One is a programming language and one is a way to store data. So you could use PHP to store data in an XML file or you could use PHP and a MySQL database or PHP and a text file or a ton of other options.

    What is a data island?

would a php and sql database be more efficient or a php and text file?

a data island is an xml file that reads an external txt file and that xml code is placed into a site, so what you are seeing is the txt file...

why would you do that? google php flash guestbook should be about a million tutorials....XML would be fine but i think mysql is probably easier
