    Any PHP 5 book recommendations

I am new to PHP but not programming. I want to learn PHP 5 and mySQL. I need to be proficient with writing code for specific instances of email tracking and website hits tracking. We do a lot of work for client specific targeted emails for seminar registration etc. and we need to track open rates, specific links and hits on a landing page, saving of form registration for repeat hits etc.

I'm thinking along the lines of 2 books, a good language book and a cookbook with the above info - but the cookbooks I have looked at cover very little about emails and tracking. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!

Well php is amazingky well documented on the internet, I would just browse the internet and maybe buy a reference book.

Thanks, but I've already spent hours browsing - that's why I want some concrete recommendations.
