loading external png files to a Flash movie?

Hi all, Flash documentation Ive seen says that Flash 8 can now load an external png file (previously only a jpg or swf file could be loaded) into flash and there are some good tutorials that cover this. The image loader component I see in Flash 8 says it only loads jpg and swf still.. so how do I do a png file then?

But Ive not been able to locate a tutorial or documentation that explains what is needed to enable an external png file to be loaded, can anyone locate one for me?

note: Im not talking about importing images here, this is to load an external png file into a movie that is open.

Hi,

very basic flash, just like with jpg and swf use:

targetmc.loadMovie("imagelocation/imagename.png");

and the external png is loaded

Defective, are you saying the swf/jpg loader component also loads pngs? Ive tried that and it didnt.. anyway,,, better try it again if that is what you are saying.
