Newbie, how would I go about doing this?

Hi there, I'm a complete newbie with flash but i'm trying to learn to create my own little personal website.

This below is what I'm trying to acheive, would this be be very difficult?

Sorry for the rough image I'm decent in illustrator and photoshop etc but this seemed the quickest way to get the image i had in mind out.

It's decidedly intermediate.
(specifically, the dropdown menu and submenu behaviors)

You'll need to study Actionscript 3.0, and have a solid understanding of the basics.
I would highly recommend watching Colin Moock's "lost actionscript weekend".

For beeing complete noob its kinda hard. But for a daily flash user its very easy and even easier if you know java. takes about a day to achieve (with lame graphics)!

As previous user said learn basics of AS3 what u need to know is...

*Simple button
*textbox handling (add, remove, change) texts
*gotoAndPlay(),gotoAndStop() and so on functions

And for graphics you need

*tweening/animate
*movieclips
*buttons

and that is all

tip. try learning movieclips first and tweening

then just do simple tutorials about buttons, textboxes.....

Good Luck!
