I recently read the 7th potter book again (i know, i know. Shame one me, but i love em!) and wanted to find similarly themed series to read.

I stumbled across this hilarious link showing how you can hide the fact that your reading a harry potter book and retain your manliness. It's pretty damn funny, the blurbs are great.

Jack mcDevitt's "The Engines of God" series is an absolutely amazing read.

That is if you enjoy SciFi.

I'll second that recommendation, birdwing... although if he's looking for Potteresque works, he'd do better with the Percy Jackson and the Olympians. I haven't read 'em, but my daughter (who is a voracious bookworm) really enjoyed them.
