stupid car tire.

So how many of you has this happened too:

driving say about.. 80 down the freeway over a bridge and all of a sudden you here a BAND and you jerk to the right almost slamming into traffic. You finally manage to pull over to realize... your in the middle of a busy bridge with a blown tire. So you get in and drive 10 MPH off the bridge so you have room to change to your spare tire and get off the interstate.
You discover your jack is so rusty it is unusable...

yeah finally someone pulled over to help me now i need a new tire and rim.. and i have possible axle damage.

The reason for the blowout. Some stupid idiot decided to throw some beer bottles out their window on the highway.. I cut myself on the glass that managed to lodge itself into the tire (and survive the half mile treck down the bridge).

this day... sucked.

so how is everyone else doing? <-- more of this

Man, that's a story and a half. Beer seems like a good solution. I'll join you (later), got a friends birthday and we're going to get pissed next to the thames. Should be nice. Hope the bus there doesn't get a blowout and crash into the river!

This is going to sound weird, but I want to screw up a tire. I'm just waiting to change it

Maybe not with those circumstances...

Whenever I hear a loud band while driving, I just turn the radio volume down.

^LOL I was thinking the same thing.

Maybe you ran over the broken beer bottles from the previous guy who had a tire blow out at 80 MPH and he decided to drink more beer to make the day better...

My tire story isn't quite as dramatic... but one morning I was heading to the doctor, enduring a 100-degree (F) fever, and I got a flat tire. I changed that sucker with all the strength of overboiled spaghetti.

I was actually driving my dad somewhere a few years ago (not sure why i was driving) and we were travelling about 70mph on the motorway with music blaring, when people started slowing down next to us and waving. After a while we noticed them, and the fact they were pointing to the back of the car. After turning the radio off we heard this horrible loud noise coming from the car. We slowed down and pulled over, to find that the exhaust pipe had come loose and was dragging along the floor, sending a shower of sparks behind the car. We managed to limp slowly off the motorway with a dreadful metal grinding noise, and got to a garage.

Was pretty embarrassing though, and it was so loud i'm shocked we didn't notice it!

At least your hood didn't pop loose and fly up while you were doing 70 mph. THAT is scary as ****.

One of my friends back in high school was driving back from one of those Tech classes that take half the day. On the highway I guess the lug-nut that holds the tire on snapped and his tire started rolling down the highway.

But yea all scary car moments.

That kinda happened to my coworker in a tractor; the hub slid of the axle. Except instead of foot drop like in a car it was a 7 foot drop

Hopefully the tractor wasn't going as fast as cars typically do on highways.

10 mph in a field is pretty f'ing past in a tractor. Not to mention you get slammed into the side windshield pretty hard and start doing donuts until enough of the shock wears off to put your foot on the clutch.

That would suck too. A guy I used to work with was working on a silage chopper and mistakenly thought another guy told him to turn it on who ended up getting his arm chopped off.
