Speaking of Style Modifications...

...if you head over to the (old) default style (click here), I upped the line height to 1.5 from 1. I am not sure why I never did that before.

Let me know if you all like it, and I will go ahead and port that over to the other custom styles as well.

Cheers!
Kirupa

Looks better! Though it's still VB which in general is pretty gross. Maybe you can whip up some custom forum software this weekend or next non-Tuesday?

Well, there is a new version of vBulletin around the corner: http://www.vbulletin.com

Maybe that improves things a bit. Though, it'll be hard for me to switch away from vBulletin - mainly because migrating this much data from one forum software to another can't be straightforward

What we really need for the forum is an api. Then you can run a bunch of contests of people useing the API and we would all have custom ways of interacting with the forum(iPhone app anyone?).

Ooh... Flash pops into mind...

Or maybe an AIR app so people can check on the forums from the desktop or be replied of new topics without having to open their browser or hit refresh for the n-th time. (Guilty)

I'd be glad to give it a shot or help out in the design process... And I like contests.

More on topic, I actually preferred the smaller spacing, but perhaps that's just because I am morbidly afraid of change... Also, as glosrfc mentioned, it's a lot more scrolling.

Some themes which don't feel so legacy would be hot .

I wouldn't mind fiddling with something

It's on my list of things to do haha, but I'm more interested in seeing what kind of buttons you'd come up with for the buttons contest!

I don't mean to complain, but, after using the new 1.5 spacing for a while, I still prefer 1 spacing, and don't really gain too much from the added readability...

Is there any way to have a "line spacing" setting in the user settings, or even tied to the theme?

If not, I'll just suck it up and stop whining...

'Cloudy' isn't legacy-looking. It's smooth.
