Is Bandwidth monitoring possible?

Hi,

I wanted to monitor my internet usage. Is it possible to build a bandwidth monitoring application using ActionScript 3.0 (with AIR).

Aim:
Get total downloads and uploads going via ethernet.
(If possible display the list of ethernet cards and wifi cards and the user can select the one needed to be monitored).
Also get the time of connection.
+(optional)
Automatically monitor if any transfers goes any ethernet or the ethernet after selecting the specific one thereafter.

I currently use DUMeter. But it doesn't work the way I wanted to.

Any resources or any ideas regarding the above.

It's possible, but the data would need to be provided to AIR by some sort of operating system interface that AIR itself doesn't provide. Basically, you would just be using AIR as a way to present and maybe manipulate the data.

ok.
implies monitoring bandwidth (the packet flow) via ethernet should be done in some other languages and sent the the result to AIR app for further calculations.
Time to start digging to other languages..
