there is a good book called, "PHP Dreamweaver MX 2004" by AllanKent, Davis Powers and Rachael Andrews on Apress. This has a walk through of a site with news and article functions.

Also try www.hotscripts.com or even include a blog software like Wordpress. I had this problem with and converted the clients site into a Mambo template and configured it. look at www.mamboserver.com for more info.

Maybe it's a good idea to tell people how your news system is working, berkoWitZ, so that people can give you better idea...

In general, you can hard code the new item into the FLA, you can read the news content from the TXT or XML or from the database by using the PHP/ASP/CF, and the approach will be somewhat different depending on the method...

I've made a simple news manager program for a client using PHP and MySQL. It works simmilar to a very simple message board, but they aren't free to make mayor modification to the page, or do complex text formating without using HTML code in the message. By the moment it is working fine, but I would like to work with content managers, like Mambo server, to make it easyer for them.

Try checking some message board tutorials, it should help you get some ideas...

You should have asked for the CD when you got the computer... They do that to save money on their end...

Anyways... If you do not have the Windows CD, you've got to use some other web server and the most popular one is Apache...
