Everybody! This is important. In a few days, these forums will be moving over to using the totally sweet Discourse platform. To ensure this migration happens smoothly with no loss of content, these forums are currently in a read-only mode. I do apologize for the inconvenience.

There is never a good time to turn the forums off for an extended period of time, but I promise the new forums will be a billion times better. I'm pretty sure of it.

See you all on the other side in a few days, and if you have any (non-technical) questions, please e-mail me at kirupa@kirupa.com. For technical questions, try to find a tutorial that corresponds to what you are looking for and post in the comments section of that page.

Cheers,
Kirupa

Thread: email me even if...

    email me even if...

hey if someone STARTS a forum topic they have the option of subscribing to it and having replies emailed to them.

That probably causes a lot of repeat questions. In fact, someone might read a post begun by someone else, and want to subscribe to it, so they get an email hoping for the answer.

my suggestion is to put the ''notify me of replies to this topic'' right next to the reply textField in the post.

i think if you reply to a topic, you get notified of further replies - its not just if you are the author.

I think you should visit my site.

Do you mean you want an option where you can subscribe to a thread even if you don't reply to that thread?
