Everybody! This is important. In a few days, these forums will be moving over to using the totally sweet Discourse platform. To ensure this migration happens smoothly with no loss of content, these forums are currently in a read-only mode. I do apologize for the inconvenience.

There is never a good time to turn the forums off for an extended period of time, but I promise the new forums will be a billion times better. I'm pretty sure of it.

See you all on the other side in a few days, and if you have any (non-technical) questions, please e-mail me at kirupa@kirupa.com. For technical questions, try to find a tutorial that corresponds to what you are looking for and post in the comments section of that page.

Cheers,
Kirupa

    Problem while exporting swf

    While trying to exporting swf in a flash AS 3 template I got this error.

    C:\Documents and Settings\INDIA\Desktop\finalSiteV1\flash\Main.as, Line 136 1046: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: TemplateEvent.
    C:\Documents and Settings\INDIA\Desktop\finalSiteV1\flash\Main.as, Line 144 1046: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: TemplateEvent.

    I attached herewith the Class files to look into. Can anyone tell me how to avert this problem.

    The class that dispatches the privacy and switchPopup Events is not included in your files.
    Code:
    addEventListener( 'privacy', onSwitchPrivacy);
    addEventListener( 'switchPopup', onSwitchPopup);
    BTW, how old are these files anyway?
    Greensock stopped using the gs directory a long time ago.

    Thanks for the reply.

    No this has already been included in line number 133 & 134. Do I have to include this one
    addEventListener( 'privacy', onSwitchPrivacy); addEventListener( 'switchPopup', onSwitchPopup);

    somewhere else. Kindly take a second look. Please.

    where is the Event coming from? who is dispatching it?
    Did you write this code? Doesn't seem like you understand the concept of dispatching events.

    You are absolutely right , I am totally novice in Flash AS 3. It is a Flash template and I could not understand the code. If you need the fla and other files to look into here is all the files

    If possible kindly take a look.
