postsRebump?
For me, normally I listen to calmer stuff (Simon & Garfunkel, Belle and Sebastian, a few of The Beatles), a bit of "alternative rock" (or whatever they call it, Interpol, Metric, The Killers, etc) and a few more up tempo stuff (Bloc Party) when I'm in the mood, but I'm trying to figure out what works well with coding still.
95% of the time I code in complete silence, but I have recently noticed that repetitious techno (Daft Punk, Tiesto) seems to make my coding "faster", as if I get more energetic from the music. So, I'm trying to figure out if anything else works the same way, or if it was just a fluke or a good coincidence.Blog article of the month: Why My One Line 'if' Statements Are Unusual

When I'm thinking about something, either if it's a way to solve something in the code I'm writing, or figuring out a part of the visual design of the thing I'm working on, I tend to listen to Tool, Interpol (like Andreas), Radiohead, or Pink Floyd.
When I have my algorithm all set up, and all I'm doing is implementing it, I switch to Nine Inch Nails, Puscifer, and I'll go as far as Alias and Air.
I haven't noticed this until recently, upon seeing Andreas' topic, that got me thinking. (topic that has brought me here)I do not need a signature

I listen to only music solos (no songs) Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Safri Duo etc.
Really pumps up my work and designs.

I'm with Anogar.. for some reason Rap seems to get and keep me more in a flow of things.. I really don't have an explanation for it..

Harry: "Yeah, she stopped me in the lobby, and explained what was up. Then they slapped this bulletproof vest on me and gave me a gun!"
Lloyd: "But what if he'd shot ya in the face...?"

For me, when I do coding, I basically ignore any music running through my ears lol. Even though how awful it is, when you are really focus, the music seems non-existent. But its a good jump start, I prefer instrumental, trance and techno without vocals as it somehow interrupts brain from processing logical thinking and interpreting the lyrics simultaneously.
