And I also disagree. Flex has some strong points, but ultimately there isn't much you can't accomplish with Flex that you couldn't have done with Flash + Flash Develop, or FDT, or something like that. Obviously no one uses the Flash IDE to code once they reach a certain point, but that doesn't mean the only (or best) option is to move to Flex Builder. I find Flex Builder to be sort of cumbersome, and for working with artists, which I'm always doing, I much prefer using the Flash IDE.

btw in the meantime Adobe totally blew up Flex, so it's a bit late for that too.

Now let me see... hmm.. I would suggest Unity3d forum

They didn't blow it up, it's called Flash Builder now. And it's free for students and the indigent!

Nope - still working there. What I cover on the site and what I work on are often two different things. It just so happened there was some overlap a few years ago.

Didn't say anything about the tooling (which is btw slooow for larger projects, comparing with Visual Studio).

Adobe unfortunately made some pure decisions with Flex over the last few years, so the framework never had the deserved importance in RIA world. It has been marketed poorly, comparing with Silverlight which has been marketed properly from day one: even when it didn't exist.

However, both (Microsoft and Adobe) are abandoning their RIA-applet-products in the favor of HTML5/Javascript (frameworks). They are not communicating this decision to developers (or are afraid to), thus making them angry - because everyone knows what's gonna happen.
