    Assembler help

    How can i run assembler on my laptop (on vista) ? this term i have a class on computer architecture and assembler programming language. I am looking for something similar to visual studio but instead of c++, for assembler . Anyone know any good software or environmment for assembler ?

    Pretty sure GCC has an assembler built in, check the man page to see the syntax

    If you can't find anything good for windows, try CYGWIN to emulate a UNIX env

    There are some tools here that I used back when I learned assembly: http://6004.csail.mit.edu/currentsemester/courseware/ (Look at JSIM and BSIM)

    They are created in Java, so it should work well, but I don't know how specific they are to that particular class as opposed to a more general purpose assembler.

    someone at school talked about some programme name win glue or something similar... did anyone here ever heard about that?
