    rss generator

    Hello!
I have one problem. I have an rss feed generator. it works fine, but i want it to be accessed by the users differently. Currently, to access the rss feed you have to open www.mysite.com/rss.php the output of the file is the rss information. What i whant done is to acceess www.mysite.com/rss.xml and the xml to be genrated on the spot.
    How can I do that?

what's the difference? either way it should be outputting a content-type of application/rss+xml .

anyway, to do what you're describing you have 2 options as i see it.
    1) use htaccess to tell your site to parse .xml as files as PHP. obviously this has other implications as well.
    2) write to your RSS .xml file when updates are actually made. thus, it's not being generated when the user goes to that address, but rather when the content is generated.

Thanks for the sugestions. Well, I am running a comercial script, and making the xml be updated with each update on the BD would be a litle too difficult. It is a solution though.

How can i make the server parse xml files as php through .htaccess? I want to make this (it is the only xml file on the server)
