    reading lines of an xml and changing them

    I have a tool on my website that lets users create an xml file. But they aren't saved for them to edit later.

    I'd like to be able to save the file as their user_id.xml and then make it available to them later.

    I'm sure I need to use mySql, but I can't get a visual in my head of what I need to do to get this to work.

    Thank you.

    So with the link you sent I can show the user the contents of their xml file and let them altar it?

    that's probably a dumb question, but it looked complicated for me.

    you could do something like
    PHP Code:
    $xml_data file_get_contents'myfile.xml' );
    echo
    '<form method="post" ...>';
    echo
    '<textarea name="xml_data">'.$xml_data.'</textarea>';
    echo
    '</form ...>'
    PHP Code:
    $new_xml $_POST['xml_data'];
    file_put_contents'myfile.xml'$new_xml );
    obviously that example's not drag-and-drop, but that is the basic idea.
