Everybody! This is important. In a few days, these forums will be moving over to using the totally sweet Discourse platform. To ensure this migration happens smoothly with no loss of content, these forums are currently in a read-only mode. I do apologize for the inconvenience.

There is never a good time to turn the forums off for an extended period of time, but I promise the new forums will be a billion times better. I'm pretty sure of it.

See you all on the other side in a few days, and if you have any (non-technical) questions, please e-mail me at kirupa@kirupa.com. For technical questions, try to find a tutorial that corresponds to what you are looking for and post in the comments section of that page.

Cheers,
Kirupa

Thread: Components Display Bug?

    Components Display Bug?

For some reason my components aren't displaying properly. If I test the flash file in the MX2004 environment it appears as it does on the left. But if I hit CTRL+ENTER a second time to re-load/test, it displays properly (on the right).

In Internet Explorer, the .swf always appears as it does on the left -- refreshing it does not solve the problem.

This started happening just recently and doesn't occur on smaller scenes (this is a fairly large application; it's kind of like Flash-AutoCad) so I'm wondering if it's a memory/processor issue on loading? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated as this is a very important work project and the application will definitly continue to expand. Is this a limitation in Flash as to how much data can be in a single flash file?
