Everybody! This is important. In a few days, these forums will be moving over to using the totally sweet Discourse platform. To ensure this migration happens smoothly with no loss of content, these forums are currently in a read-only mode. I do apologize for the inconvenience.

There is never a good time to turn the forums off for an extended period of time, but I promise the new forums will be a billion times better. I'm pretty sure of it.

See you all on the other side in a few days, and if you have any (non-technical) questions, please e-mail me at kirupa@kirupa.com. For technical questions, try to find a tutorial that corresponds to what you are looking for and post in the comments section of that page.

Cheers,
Kirupa

    Need Flash help

I posted this in the wrong forum earlier so will try here...

Iím doing a site that shows the changes in a place over time. I have the photos and I can do most of the work myself but I am stumped on the Flash.

I want to be able to cross fade one photo into another and then perhaps into another and then cross fade them back using a button navigation.

    So it would be:

click 1( year 1900) -it fades in (or is showing when the window opens)
    click 2-(year 1950) 1 fades out the 2 fades in (a crossfade)
click 3 -(year 2006) 2 fades out and 3 fades in (a crossfade)

Now Iíve been able to do this.

    What I canít do is:

image 2 is showing and 1 is clicked again - 2 fades out and 1 fades in (a crossfade)
or image 3 is showing and 1 is clicked again- 3 fades out and 1 fades in.

I want to have the fades go slowly so it shows the effect of time on a place.

    Please help.

    Thank you

    Ann
