    change alpha/opacity in background image

    hi my web design class in high school were all wondering how we can change the opacity of the background image of a web page WITHOUT editing the image in photoshop, paint, etc...

    anyone have the code, and if so can u tell me where in my html document to put it? much appreciated

    I dont think there's an easy way to do it w/ css ... the only way to have a div layer behind your content (z-index's) with a background image then adjust the alpha on the layer
