Everybody! This is important. In a few days, these forums will be moving over to using the totally sweet Discourse platform. To ensure this migration happens smoothly with no loss of content, these forums are currently in a read-only mode. I do apologize for the inconvenience.

There is never a good time to turn the forums off for an extended period of time, but I promise the new forums will be a billion times better. I'm pretty sure of it.

See you all on the other side in a few days, and if you have any (non-technical) questions, please e-mail me at kirupa@kirupa.com. For technical questions, try to find a tutorial that corresponds to what you are looking for and post in the comments section of that page.

    Frontpage Server Extensions

    Mr. Kirupa,
    Thanks for your response to yesterdays issue. I have had absolutely no luck, even with your suggestion. I have talked with the Cox people about my personal web space and unfortunately no one seems to know much. So, if I am to run Frontpage Server Extension on my own computer can you advise me on as to an appropriate Microsoft server and how to implement the necessary changes. The Developer package I purchased has 'SQL Server 2000' and 'Exchange 2000 Server' disks. I installed the SQL Server 2000 and find that I am lost. Should I sign up with some other 'server' coompany who implements the ' Frontpage Server Extensions'? Any suggestions?

    Hello Easy Ed,
    Unfortunately, I do not know how to implement the FrontPage Server Extensions on a home PC. For great, affordable hosting, you may consider http://www.racknine.com and http://www.mediatemple.net . The site and the forums are hosted on their servers, and they support the FrontPage Extensions fully.

    Many free hosts such as Cox and Charter provide free web space, but they do not support the FP Extensions. Sorry I can't be of any further assistance on implementing a FP Server on your own computer.

    Great, now even Kirupa is { facebooking | twittering }
