He probably used a reference image.

Although, I think it looks great.

that can be re-painted in PS. which is what it seems he did. I did something similar with wolverine when I was in school. Sketched it by hand then scanned into PS. Then used the paint tools in PS to recreate the colors. All by reference photo....took me hours but it came out good.

lol.....failed to mention I graduated sometime ago......but I will search around old backups if I get a chance. I posted it a very long time ago but that was before K had that bug mishap and a bunch of stuff was lost.

Hey thanx jAy, for clearing the doubts...actually i started off using the image in the background, but then jAy (gr8jAy), sitting next 2 me told he would'nt consider it as a gr8 job . So I started it all over again from scratch.

posted this earlier, though got deleted in the db tranfser, what i said was

That created in photoshop looks great Now that i got a chance to look at the reference, you can see that your image is a little soft, where the reference image shows much more depth in the facial muscles with the darkness of the shadows giving it that tighter and meaner look.

if you wanted to go further with it, i would suggest give that a go, in either way its a nice job

thanx buddy...i think i need to work on the depth of the skin and lighting
