Programs: Adobe Photoshop (as well as other graphic progs. i guess)
Dimension Limit: 1000 x 1000 max (the bigger the better lol)
Size Limit: None
Rounds: 3

The Idea: The idea is that we take a certain style we like (prefably from our personal websites whether created or to-be-created) and incorporate them into our serve/image/graphic that we create. So if a websites style is typography, we might (or probably will) mix that w/ our serve.

Theres no winner for this right? The purpose is to help us get ideas for our website am I correct?

I'm not sure about my websites style mlkedave, it's just a style I like. I just restarted my website ( ;P ) because I found it wasn't working out, it looks much better now though.

reef, for your portfolio, u can point ps battles, but without the little 'Round' and 'Versus' text and just call them experiments. I see a lot of people do just to buff their portfolio and show their potential.

: Tommy - I can't explain. I'll try my best. For the paper on the border? You can just simply make the shape and fill it in. You can also take photos from around the net and edit them. It's almost impossible to make this stuff without photos. I cant explain grunge, I didn't know this was grunge anyways. I thought it was a bunch of image editing. Theres only 1 brush in this whole graphic, and it's the 2 little circles at the bottom right due to sheer lazyness. The text was just blend modes. I forgot where to get the font, search around I guess. The little see though orange glaze was the blend modes and lighting effects. The bg? That's a image/texture lol. I can't tell you how I did it. You shoulda seen my psd before flattening it, man talk about 50 layers of sloppiness (i don't name them either haha). I sort of just put it together with a bunch of images, 99% images, 1% creativity. All I can say is go to a texture site and download some and apply it to what you create. This serve blows anyways. I hate the way it came out.

: Unflux - Thanks. Yea I remembered some website had scotch tape on it, and it just gave me the idea to slice the bottle up like tape shapes and shift em around. Wierd eh?

Nice serve Reef... but why would you ever flatten a PSD and save it... it sorta negates the fact of it being a PSD.

True... you could always just send him the bottle, and paper... since those are the main elements. I'm sure he can do the circle texture... but he's already got his idea so he's all good.

What a trend board is... is a board of different styles from across the world type of deal. So we have like retro examples, tech examples, grunge examples... that type of deal. Now the difference between your grunge and say Tommy's is his is more common and easier to find on the web, as to where yours is more unique, and not as "trendy". By progressive scan I mean I'll just have small pics of the paper and the whiskey bottle, layed next to the final project to show how they were incorporated. It's an internal inspirational thingy we do, and I just think this would be a nice addition... of course at your disgression.
