View Full Version : You guys rock!

yorkshirepuddin

I just wanted to say that I think you guys rock over here.

I post to other boards, and while for the most part that are great too, they do not come close to the level of positive/helpful communication you get over here.

I'm glad I found this board. :)

Well, hello little lady.
Now that you have been formally welcomed, tell us all about yourself now...

What do you want to know?

Well I'm a Brit but living in Canada. I'm female (eilsoe, this is for your benefit, just in case you forget).

I'm a web designer, although recently laid off. All my design skills, experience, knowledge comes from my own determination, i.e. I have no official training just a lot of persistance.

Want more, just ask!

I'm 24 (unfortunately).

I don't have a site, yet! I'm designing it right now - see attachment to see where that's heading ...

I do flash, html, graphics ... I'm not on the more technical end of stuff i.e. php, asp, javascript ... too many rules ... don't like them.

Anything else?

That's not what I am saying at all, I am just saying we get seldom female members on the forum. We have kitiara and rengirl, great designers in every subject, they blow me away. I admire women on their creativity, that is where I lack in design. You got me totally wrong in my post, I admire female designers!

1. Whats your favorite color?

Depends on the day and my mood. For the most part, natural, organic, earthy colours. Doesn't quite narrow it down but then I'm a typical female and change my mind daily.

From here on out, I must remain a mystery. :q: That is my new stance.

Hello...

I seem to have arrived at this thread a little late to tame the unruly boys here. I <i>do</i> apologise. :)

I don't know quite what's going on between Lost and Eilsoe there - some kind of hermaphroditic long distance relationship, I'm not sure. I do know that bras are involved, but I chose not to persue this particular avenue of enquiry. Phil is our World Dictator (in training), and the good Rev changes his footer / avatar about every 5 seconds so you never know what's happening. I'm sure he's doing it to catch us all out.

Anyway, nice to see another British (even if you are in Canada), female web designer around. :)

Welcome to the board.

Look, it's nothing to be ashamed of.

Live and let live, that's what I say.

Hee hee!

I'm working on my new and improved cyborg at the moment. Any of you Photoshop geniuses want to play around with it when I'm done? I'm alright at drawing her in Flash, but I was wondering if she could be improved in PS. I've just got no idea how to do that...

Guig0
November 25th, 2002, 09:49 AM
Depending of what you want and how you want to improve I´m your man.

err... ...that sounds strange... ....anyway, I´m at your service m´lady.

=)

Kitiara
November 25th, 2002, 10:09 AM
Well, if you've seen the original cyborg image, you'll get the idea of what you'll have to work with. I'm re-drawing her a bit with a new pose and some guns, and maybe in a little more detail, but the overall feel will be the same. Still line art, same colours, that kind of thing.

What I'd like is for someone to be able to make her more metallic, add some light to it, maybe a background... Eventually I want to post the finished article on deviantART. Full credit to anyone who helps out of course. A collaborative effort, as my Photoshop skills are well below par.

Well, it's almost done, so I'll post it up hopefully later today. Anyone who feels they'd like to tart it up a bit is more than welcome.
