Sweet as! After using it for about 5 mins, Iv noticed only a slight difference with downloading files, loading websites is pretty much the same. But downloading files seems to be alot quicker. Im on a Cable TV Connection,
EDIT: After using it for a further few minutes it seems to actually be working. This may be the first Google product that I actually like! :)

It uses caching. Google routes your requests through their accelerator servers. They only download the website from the source if the website has substantially changed since the last time you viewed it. It's the same idea behind all of those internet accelerators you see on TV - high speed dial-up and all that junk - so it doesn't actually cause anything to be "faster" just compressed versions already cached.
if you are ok with that then, yes it does help your experience :)
check out the learn more link for information on it - but to be honest if I were to do this sort of thing, I'd want to use Google.

he sounds a bit bitter about something.....but I do know google do store a lot of information about what u search on their sites. so when i got this earlier today I wasn't too keen on installing, so didn't. I thought twice when I saw them use "yada yada" in their privacy policy when installing their program.
I'd rather stay a bit more anonmous (if there is such a thing) than save 9 seconds every hour

It annoyed the hell out of me for a moment there because everytime I logged in here, the web accelerator would kick in and bring up the cache of the un-logged in web page. That was a mild pain. Aside from that, I haven't noticed a difference just yet. I'll report later.

I just read this over at betanews.com, its interesting and im wondering if I should uninstall it?
Google's release of its Web Accelerator has caused growing concern among some developers that it may actually do more harm than good. In order to speed up Web surfing, the tool automatically downloads URLs linked on page a user is visiting, which means it might load administrative links for editing or deleting content. The issue was discovered when users of Backpack (http://www.backpackit.com/), a service designed to organize information for individuals and small businesses in a wiki-like format, complained that their Web pages were suddenly disappearing.
