XMLsocket - how to use it ???

Could someone explain what i need to have installed on my server to make XMLsockets work ??? :look:
Well I got my flash application to work from my server but I did it in a very rude way :) (I was using somebody else's host and port to connect my swfs)
So I want to tell my webhosting company to install own XMLsocket server but they don't know what it is. Neither do I. So i need your help about XMLsocket server.. how can i implement that powerfull technology into my projects? How do i make a simple xmlsocket server ?
