Ever have one of those guys who is always asking for help?
Then one day he sends you a link to his "newly revamped site" ...
and in the respect section, you notice your name is not there, even though your code is used in the site...
and he wants you to give him your opinion on it?
www.otradesign.com
grrrrrrrr...

i completly understand man!
Its kinda weird though, he needed your help .. to make himself look good, and he probably doesnt do great websites lol (thats been my expirence with other people lol)
anyway, its ok , has alot of work to do to make it kick ***, but itsok..
However, its not ok not to give credit where credit it due.
=)
You're still the man Rev =)

Well sometimes it's good!
When you help a guy and he makes a webpage that sucks hard! And then puts your name on it! <--- embarrasing!
A friend of mine made a wepage that ...yeah sucked hard and then put my name on the "webmasters" page!!! WTF! I didn't even help him! I had nothing to do with that ugly page!
Usually it's good... ut not always... ---watch out---

thanks Ray...
I imagine he used a template of some kind to do what he did...
I noticed his own site is much more advanced than anything he has done for money. This says to me he stole \was given the code for his own site, and prob couldn't do much other than change the colors and some of the text.
He has a decent eye for design though.
No sweat, I was just blowing off steam...

the funniest thing is...
the reason I first found out about this site, is that he links to my brother's site, and my brother fwd' to me...
He has my brother listed in his respect section, and not me!
My brother has not contributed to anything on that site... maybe an asp script or 2...
cracks me up...

November 22nd, 2002, 06:20 PM
function bustNine(who, xlocation, ylocation) {
target._x = xlocation;
target._y = ylocation;
who.bustACap();
if(who == dead) {
who._visible = false;
trace("Don't mess with a designer, " + who + "!");
} esle {
who.bustAGrenade();
who._visible = false;
trace("Dodge that " + who + "!");
}
}
bustNine(ortadesign, 100, 100);
Output: Dodge that ortadesign!
Damn, I missed him with my gat, oh well, grenade will do!
I left out the bustACap() and the bustAGrenade() functions , I felt it was too dangerous for public use.

Gotta admit his music is catchy ;)
You should make him put it on. Usually if you just tell someone they will do it in fear :evil:

He finally saw this thread evidently...
I just got an email saying that all the code in his site is his. I'd like to see him code a simple JavaScript rollover, or AS a motion tween, or even a frameset in HTML...
If he thought about his portfolio, there is an awful lot of my code in there...
I find this humourous...

Really it's fine. That is why I blew off steam here, rather than talking to him directly. That was prob a bit snakey on my part... But sometimes you have to put it out there, see what happens...
I think the way he found the thread was by reading thru my posts... not sure on that one...
lol

Yo, we've already established that his site is crap, graphics-wise, and either he coded it all himself, :smirk: or he's just a little bee-otch, and im betting on the latter. The fact that he wants to takes all the credit for something that he had help with leads me to believe that he has self esteem issues. So let him maintain his dillusions, and laugh if he ever asks for more help..
Drop a car-bomb in his Yugo, and then date his mother.
