I am looking to buy a FlashDrive, but don't really know where to start. So, for those who own one, can I have some suggestions?

I'm looking for it to be fairly inexpensive (say, <=200), have an 'average' amount of space on it, and capable of "plug 'n play" so that there is nothing to install.

I've been looking on eBay (http://search.ebay.com/flashdrive_W0QQfkrZ1QQfromZR8) for the past few days, and some of the auctions look promising, but that's just to me - I really have no idea what brands I should be paying more attention to.

Gratzi :)

What are you planning to put on it? Define 'average', your definition (256MB-2GB) matters in pricing. Most drives are plug and play already so you don't have to worry about that.

Thanks for reminding me that i need to actually think about what i will be putting on it. hah. That said, I plan on putting a more than hefty amount of data: full programs, movies, word documents, excel documents, power point documents, access documents.

So, i'm thinking a 1GB will do the trick?
Here is one that looks good to me (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=99247&item=5190834240&rd=1)
What are your thoughts on that one? And I know you mentioned that most flashdrives do have plug 'n play capabilities, but does the flashdrive in the auction above have it?

Thanks so much :)

Memorex is definitely a trusted brand.

Memorex TravelDrive is useable in either platform with no additional installation software required

I'm not sure about putting movies on it though, usually movies are 700MB, programs can vary.

Sounds good. I may look into that alienware one, but will most likely just settle on the Memorex.

Thanks a lot to the both of you :)

I got a 200gb Hard disk for £90, and its fairly small, so i use that for everything - backing up, transferring from uni to home etc etc.

Pen Drives are good, but i find they are too small for my liking.
