The gradients seem a tad overbearing to me, I find them to be best when subtle. Otherwise yeah, it loads fast! Cheers.

Very clean, simple site. :)
In this case the "Less is more" fits in pretty good.

the overall feel doesnt make me think of a tatoo site, more like a my little poney or something. Its a decent site but not for a tatoo parlor.

same as slowroasted. I think you should go for some darker colors and give it a more gothic feeling. Thats pretty much it. Otherwise i like the buttons and the transitions. The transitions should be a little faster.

yeah, the light purple and gradients seem a bit out of place.

Umm... yea well... I think for a tatoo site it's pretty poor. I saw the first page and I thought that I was gonna buy a kiddy book or somethin, like Barney, or the Teletubbies were gonna start dancing on stage. While I think it's bad to stereo-type... when it comes to sites... stereo-typing is something that is almost neccessary. With that said, I think you should scrap what you have go a darker, more aggressive route.

i'm not really in a position to say to the client - "no, i'm not going to do it the way you want, I'm going to do it dark and grungy" I can't do that because they are paying me to do it the way they want. I understand what you're saying though.

thank you.

Well... I didn't know they wanted a cutsey site and that was the direction. I figured it was something you were gonna present to them as an option.

However, as the designer, you are in a position to try and explain why it wouldn't work, and why it might not hit their target market. Not say no... but present it in a different light (or dark in this case :P). I'm not sayin every person that gets a tattoo is a hardcore, gothic, gotta ride a chopper to get a tattoo. But when ppl think of a tattoo shop that's the ideas that come into a persons mind.

Anyway... if this is the style they are sold on... I'd have to agree with everyone else on the purple gradient. And something to improve on the overall look of it I'd move the octopus so part of it is outside of the container, and part is inside... it'll give it much more appeal. The nav when it drops down it almost would be better if it dropped down on rollover instead of a click. On the intro... I'd make it so the white box appears w/ the resize, instead of the gradients just movin up and down.
