Iv'e created an email form which allows the user to send an email with out loading up outlook on my website. It works fine on my local server but when i upload it to geocities the email doesn't work. The send button just does nothing. I would have thought that geocities would be fully supportive of all php. Has anyone else managed to use php with Geocities??

I'm almost 100% certain that geocites does not support php on a free level. I know there are some free hosts that do, however, support php. It's been asked a few (thousand) times on the forums so if you do a quick search for free php hosts you should definitely be able to find something suitable. Happy hunting =)

You can't use PHP on any Geocities server. No free server space supports PHP as far as I know.

that's untrue. there are plenty of them out there... shyper used to have a free host, 1gb space, 10gb bandwidth, PHP, MySQL, etc. it was very nice, until they stopped hosting for free, with no alert to customers... they just destroyed all the sites, and made it so that it was never there

you could try www.clickherefree.com They used to have a myriad of free hosts that where 'instant activation' and free... but now most hosts have moved to manual activation (they actually look at you application) or will reqiure you to be an active member of their forums or something. you should expect ads though.
but no, no dice with geos***ies.
