Hey guys! :ko: I have had this idea for a while and now I am really ready to go through with it. This is a traditional art battle, meaning you can paint, draw or do collages. Your final piece should never go through a computer except to scan or take a picture of it. The "theme" or whatever you call it I have not decided on yet, but we can discuss it later. I know a lot of you are really good at Photoshop, so this is a chance to see if you can do it on paper. If you think you are not god enough of an artist to join this, you're wrong. I want this to also be a :sure: learning experience of some sort for all of us. Please if you are interested tell me! :thumb:
If you are too lazy to read all that:
- Traditional art battle
- Only paintings, drawings or collages
- Double Image theme (see last post)
- Due May 6th 2005, so you got two weeks
Please give this a chance! I think this forum has lost some of it's competitivness lately, I have not seen many battles. :(
DUE DATE: May 6th 2005...two Fridays from now

I'd be interested in this, if I knew more about it.
Pick a theme and then I will decide :D

lol you're not up to the challenge of a random theme? Don't worry, I will think of something very broad, like "urban" or something. You guys can throw some ideas out there if you have some good ones :thumb:

Count me in. I've been looking for an excuse to get off my arse and this just might help me do it.
As for theme.... hmmm.. your'e challenge-your theme.
I would however like to suggest we start this on a friday in order to get at least two weekends in. I don't mind working at night, just after a long day at work, it's not the ideal creative time.

yeah alright...so it shall be! This Battle is officially open!
The theme is: Double Image
This means your piece should be focused on two images that you would never see together in real life. Ex: cactus in sky, screwdriver in space...whatever. Just be creative and have fun! If you really don't like this theme...just tell me! :D

From the first post. Sounds like as long as you make it by hand (not on computer) it's a go. I'm sure RadioactiveChimp can confirm that.

It is my understanding that any traditional, non computer altered image, is good to go. Black pen, oils, acrylics, collage, whatever floats your boat that isnt pixels.
and good luck all..

sorry I haven't been responding...my house was getting fumigated and couldn't get to my compy. Just to answer some questions:
- As I said before, use whatever you like...pencils, ink, paint...just as long as it's not computerized!
@ c130 nice man! It look pretty cool, but I gave us 2 weeks for a reason. I mean I know mine is gunna be a little more busy and more complicated than that. Just be aware that if this is your final piece, you might be in for surprise :thumb:
good luck everyone...and we can still take more people ;)

When I do non-computer art, if it takes me more than about two hours - and I'm not in art class - I never finish it, lol. So two weeks could give me enough time to produce a hundred basic pieces or a quarter of a conventional painting. :P

That is pretty relaxed. Now I just need to find some time and figure out what to create. Gee, that shouldn't be hard ;)

You don't know how welcom the extension is... I really liked my concept, so I have decided to increase the size. The finished piece is now going to be about 18"x48" or something like that.
