It would be gangster if you added more little stars in the bg, and made it 3d, with the point of origin way in the back so it looks like the stars are jumping out of the page.

one thing i can tell you is that the base of your letters are all kinda level which isn't usually suitable with the style i think.

Lol, well thanks for the reply. I didn't honestly expect it to be on target anyways :P...but at first I thought graff art was only graffiti style writing but then I got confused cause I saw some of the stuff by tommy and foodpk which didn't have anything to do with graffiti really. Yet it qualifies as graff art? So I'm unsure now, what exactly defines something as graff art? And if this is hard to learn are there any sites or something I might be able to learn from? To me most of the graff writing is utterly confusing and illegible but I like to learn new stuff so :)!

not sure about illustrator, i dont own it so i'm not familiar with it at all. you could just take what you have from illustrator and add the effect in photoshop (a whole bunch of grunge brushes) when your done. By the way, nice piece, finally some REAL stuff, do you have any more pics?

Thanks man, I use mainly flash for the vector capabilities (I hate fireworks and i don't own illustrator) and then i take what i make in flash to photoshop to make whatever i have 3D, and to add a few effects... thats pretty much it.

Here's a sketch I did recently, (My first ever!) and i'm pretty psyched with how it turned out. I'm going to fill in the white areas with more graffitti... its tough because I suck hahaha oh well

you should work on your simple block letters first and then add style and once youve mastered what makes letters look good then move on to wild style adding extensions and add-ons (in moderation) because right now your letter structure is a tad lacking... consistent widths and consistent form and flow is what makes letters look good, only way to get better is to sketch like a crack fiend

Getting better dude, only way to get better is to find a name you like and sketch that one name over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.... If you sketch different words everytime you'll never develop your own consistent style, and you won't be amazing!

yea i've settled on kostka like below. It's the name of a saint because my Mom wanted some religous tie with my graff im only twelve so yes she does still have some control over me.

Kostka is a good word to write... variety of different shaped letters... I'm never a fan of o's or i's, I just don't believe they're real letters :lol:

But like i said... the key to everything in life is abusive practise... Don't bother colouring in everything you sketch to make it a piece, just work on your letters over and over again, and ALWAYS second guess yourself:
"Does that arrow really look good? What could I do to make it flow with the piece more?" etc, and ALWAYS be constantly thinking:
"What should I do here that would look really nice?"

Looking at pro writers pieces to see why exactly they look good is key, just don't bite anything.... but you knew that already
