As a new member to the forum I would like to present my self and showcase my new homepage that I just finished working on, and now would love to get some feedback on..

The thought behind this page isn't to get alot of freelance work, If I aimed towards that I would probably have made a much stricter site.
Instead I wanted to focus more on creating an unusal page, and letting my fantasy wander freely, and make a page that hopefully will stay in the memory (and bookmarks list http://www.flashmove.com/board/images/smilies/biggrin.gif) of the visitor.
I wanted a portfolio page where I can show my work, but I also wanted the site itself to mirrow what I like to work with (which is web, illustration & motion graphics).

It's something i didn't see before! You managed to do that! cool.

But the navigation through the site is not clear enough. It took me too much time to figure that out. You can work on that a bit more.

i completely missed the navigation the first time around. maybe a hover caption would help.

hi there!!!

I welcome you to KF...

my comments are the same as above comments but please put a site navigation... A site without navigation is like a starting a car without a engine or fuel...
i have seen the navigation but it disappeared with the animation...

Never Too Late!!! Never Too Early!!!

Thanks for the welcoming,
It's starting to get pretty clear that the navigation is a bit to fuzzy, a hover effect on the scrollbar is a good idea! Hm but maybe it isn't enough, maybe I should have some kind of info box too?

User-unfriendly-navigation. Didn't get at first how to use it. Put "drag the scroller" or smthing like this. Also, make the scroller not to stop at its will, but at the will of users. So you can scroll and scroll until you stop at a section yourself.

i really like your method of navigating, but it needs to be more clear that it is in fact a navigational device. like the others, i did not notice there was anything more to your page. i love the sliding bar/territory thing you got there, but i think the bug cursor is overkill simply because it appears the pixel you're off the nav tube thing. maybe make it so you cant see the bug cursor until you're far off the navigational territory

Reminds me of that whatwhat (www.whatwhat.co.uk) site a lot. Managed to find the navigation, but I guess I'm a bit more exploratory than the average user :).

I've made some minor changes to the site now, hopefully It will be easier to understand.. I also made some of the changes you (sandra_h & tommy_s) suggested the scroller no longer stop at its on will, and the bug cursor dont pop up until you're far off the navigational territory.. So did my changes make any diffrence?

I have no idea why you cant see my site, RabBell but it seems to be working for everyone else, hm..

nice page, very creative. :pleased:
as others said, you should point out the navigation system better. even when there was a text with "drag it" i though it is some stupid joke. :P
just tell us straight - navigation scroller or something. :)
otherwise i like that navigation thing.

I think the navigation can work.. you should have an arrow or some text on it (especially for the not so problem solving people out there). The only thing I do not like (and seams out of place) are the rectangle images with the white text. You have done such a good job with your use of white space on the other pages, that you may want to think about converting that page to reflect the style of the other pages. Maybe the images are round, or square.. etc. Great job - nice illustrations!

thanks dudes..

[uber] hm, I've never seen any bug, the scrollbar might slide in the left tube and come out the right (and vice versa), are you sure that's not what's happening?

vstrom, yeah your'e right the focus section could have been better implented on the page, but I wanted to give it as much room as possible..

I've made a sligth change to the "drag me" text, but I don't wanna fiddle with the design of the scroller :-/
