View Full Version : Problems hosting my own server!

This is probably in the wrong section but hey!
This isn's about setting up a server it's about hosting my own - Basically I have my http://localhost/ (with thanks to WAMP (http://www.wampserver.com/)) but now I need people to be able to connect to it! I Can view it myself but Other's can't it says the gateway timed out. Is it a firewall problem or am I just stupid -

If you have a router, you'll have to forward port 80 to your local ip address, and then they should be able to see your server when they type in your public ip address. If you don't know it, goto www.whatismyip.com and send them that number. If you want something easier to remember, sign up at http://no-ip.com for free

huh? what do you mean by "forward" could you tell me what to do in steps :) And as far as i know i don't have a router
