I am also wondering whether or not it is possible to have a multiplayer game in flash, you know with a split screen or however would work well with 2 people playing a single platform game on the same computer..?

how would be able to make the multiplayer of the game work? i would really like split screen but thats hard so yer n e ideas?

hi there!!!

i have not yet made any game... I will start in One and half months time...

Im wondering whether you have made single player... If not some would say start from there if yes... get a game server... I m not what im saying...

because i want my first game to be cool.. i have got it done lol, i just want a multiplayer and options menu to go on top of what i have.. i have ot published the finished version and yer i want the options menu and multiplayer running before i publish it

well, i think maybe you should listen to Chen, i understand that you want your first game to be "cool", but my advice is to wait until you get more experience, add multiplayer features to a game can be very hard (at least for me it is), maybe you can release a sigle player version and later release a multiplayer version, and hope to you stick a round kirupa, you'll learn a lot and will be kirupans willing to help you out (not for make stuff for you)

well, thats my best advice...

@nathan... what type of game do you wanna make? once you have that.. you can go about and learn how that type is made... and create your own....

i HAVE MADE a platform game with, people being able to set the brightness and volume, with playable turorial level, pickups and enemies, control menu etc. i just want to add multi player on to it n4c i didnt get what u sed either

Ok, only read some of this thread, but are you looking for a same screen multi player or splitscreen or online multiplayer with sockets, etc. Perhaps something like the following swf?

Ahh, so the split screen? If so, this can be done by resizing MC's and in-game stuff. A few other ways to do it. But I recomend starting with a basic single player if you havent done that yet. Just to get down the basics that you will need to do this. But I'll look for the old site that I saw that shows this. I saw it somewhere so it should be somewhere on my favorites. *Sigh* (Large list) :|

Like a mario cart game that can split screen? I've never done multiplayer before but I guess you could practice to make the screen split with an AI ally. After that you can go for multiplayer. Like I said I never done Multiplayer before.
