unexpected file format

would anyone happen to know whats wrong when i try to open a .fla file and it says 'unexpected file format'? i got this when i downloaded a zip file from the full flash site tutorial and each time i try to open a .fla file that messege appears can somoene help me plz.?

i've also had this and I think (in my case) its when I try to open something up that has been made using mx as I use flash 5:bandit:

ahh i'm pretty sure thats why is flash mx much harder to use or is it easier because i may decide to get it if its about the same

Perhaps you should do what I did and download the 30 day trial and decide for yourself, i'm still undecided but you might find that you prefer it:bandit:

I think it doesnt work coz you are probably jumping from mx to flash 5!

Stick to MX if you are gonna buy it. It is much easier to work in the long run. I was a fan of flah 5, but once i got used to MX, no looking back!
