I'm a huge admirer of VonDutch... before he was high fashion... Von Dutch was born a poor man, lived a poor man... and died a poor man... and he was happy... he thought money was annoying... it got in the way.. even though he was successfull as a painter.. all he wanted to do was work on motercycles...
When he was a kid... he used to pinstripe and paint on everything... one of his most famous creations was the Flying eyeball... borrowed from middle eastern Kulture... the eyeball symbolized a soul after life that can travel and look down on the world...
i didn't make the eyeball... but i vectorized it... and soon to be tattoed B/W on my shoulder...
Just wanted to let you guys in on VonDutch a bit more than fashion.
p.s.. Von Dutch's real name was Kenny Howard, and in the 70's... started calling himself J.L. Bachs... which was short for Joe Lunch Box

To be honest, I'm not impressed at all. Of course I like vintage/retro things, but not this way. I prefer pin-up girls most of all. There're some of 'em hanging on the walls in my flat, you know. I even, wanted to decorate my black portfolio case with one of the girls, but then decided to make a sticky blue logo(vctrzdm), as the girls were too much vulgar. Thou, my mobile back cover is an illo of one of pin-ups. :hat:

Actually, not everything. I've got some other things (work, education, etc) to think about. But I just like pin-ups and retro stuff (clothes, music and so on and so forth). You see?

Von Dutch almost created the idea of pin striping himself, he also would do surf boards for friends, which would sit at the very front on the underside of the board, and he wpuld only paint the flying eye, nothing else

I guess you never heard of Von Dutch.
Here is a little biography, which I advise you to read:
Born Kenneth Howard in 1929, Von Dutch made no bones about his disdain for "Jews, Mexicans and niggers" and erratic, antisocial behaviour dominated his encounters with others. He made a living spray painting intricate designs on custom cars. He became a legend in his field.
He was also an alcoholic. In the late 1960s, Von Dutch wrote off a car while under the influence. His wife, who was in the passenger seat, lost their unborn child. Von Dutch fled from California to Arizona to avoid being prosecuted for manslaughter.
In the years that followed, Von Dutch became more violent and reclusive. By the time he died, he was practically unapproachable, and was spending most of his time crafting and decorating guns. His last words were reportedly "Heil Hitler".
Those who sport Von Dutch apparel today - predominantly teenage girls - know nothing of the designer's history. Von Dutch's most famous designs - his stylised surname and "flaming eyeball" motifs - spent 30 years on the sides of cars before his daughters sold the copyright in the years following his death.
Von Dutch doesn't represent anything. If anything, wearing it represents a lack of personality
