I like the second one better. Though it has been masked out of a dark picture and I can see the dark and ugly edges a bit... I think it's still a good pic :)

actually that was bevel and emboss, on a brush.

Hmm, I only download brushes from there. I make my own actions if I am going to use actions.

how do you make your own actions? cause i posted a question about the frame chanle that you used, so i take it that this is an answer to it. but i would like to make my own. just click on the new actions button?

In the actions panel there is a record button.

You have to be in edit mode, not button mode.

Click on the record button. Do your thing, hit stop when you are done.
