transparency....

i am trying to use a png because theycan carry transparancy, but it seems like when i use it, it isnt trasparent to the backround picture, but its just transparent and has a white backround or something. anyone know what i could be doing wrong?

.png image transprency doesn't work on web pages.

Works well in Flash though :-\
