OK I have a problem with my PC for some reason the sound has disappered and it cannot pick up either my USB headset or speakers..

Also everytime it loads it says the system registery has been recovered about 10 times.. then it trys to open a file called cli.exe......

IM currently scanning with norton and have scanned with adaware, S&D and CCcleaner.. It also wont let me enable auto protect on my norton !

yeh so any help would be appreciated!!

cli.exe is the file used by ATI's Control Center. It shouldn't be a problem. If you are using the cli.exe files as part of the new Catalyst Control Center, make sure you have .NET Framework 1.1 installed.

Regarding the sound issue, for how long have you been having that problem?

:P

What was the last thing you remember doing when this problem showed up? And how did the scan go?

if your on XP go

right click my computer>click manage> open up event viewer>click on system> look for errors, and copy and paste the most recent errors (make sure they are ERRORS not warnings or information)

RANT:

get mac os x.
Then when you got a problem it wouldn't tell you till your computer is running on its last file then you just gotta dump it and buy a new iCrap.

Download new updates from M$. They work good...sometimes.

whenever I get new updates from M$ my computer BSODs and I have to restart. It does that alot of time on its own too.

If I could afford it I would get a Mac in a flash.

Have you reinstalled your sound card drivers? Or are you using one of those USB speakers that don't require a sound card at all?

Oh also, go to Start | Run | msconfig.exe. Under startup, uncheck everything you see and restart. If everything works, only add the things that you think you may need. It may work.
