I've been working on this game for a while now, mostly to experiment with some things and learn my actionscript a little better and I wanted the opinions of some people other than my friends, who out of sheer spite will always refuse to say anything positive about my coding. The game is <a href="http://siggy.ca/wgmworld.swf">Right Here</a>. The controls are as follows: Up/Down - Move Forward/Backward, Left/Right - Turn left and right, Space - Fire, Z/X - Previous/Next weapon, A/S - Previous/Next Item, C/V - Strafe Left/Right.

hmmm....good type of engine for a metal gear solid (NES) type of game.

Is that art based or tile based? I liked the AI :P

Umm, I'm planning on having it be art-based, I've come too far to introduce tiles to the mix without wanting to shoot myself in the foot.

Soo.. its Art-Based then? I really liked your AI maybe you can make the ai open source ? ;)

Wow, I never thought it was that great...most of it is very similar to what Marz has posted. However, all my AI was written by me, for me. I have avoided going on the internet for help with this because it's way more fun to figure it out on my own. Anyways, is there any particular enemy AI you want?

Just as a random point involving this online demo, it's constantly undergoing revisions, so if you played it say, last night, there's a fairly high chance there's going to be SOME difference in the code between now and then. I'm currently adding enemies that attack in a pack based on the commands of their "leader".

Well im not as good in ActionScript Programing as you are but i had an thread ( http://www.kirupa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=83702 ) many people tried to help me but that was Tile based AI's and your AI looks good and i tought it maybe would fit my game .. Becouse that one in black turns around after the "guy" and i have been looking around for something like that in about 3 weeks. Awell it was just a tought you could have the AI "open" :P
