hello boys and girls
What would be a safe framerate for medium to highend computers. Ive had some problems with framerate.

I never use lower than 60fps. :)

I usually use that to, but Im gonna be scrolling some text slownly across the screen and it really has to be smooth.

Paddy Duke man, have you ever had any problems with that high frame rate.

Nope. It does tend to slightly increase your filesize as opposed to using 30fps though. You have more tweening and stuff. If you need it smooth, the higher the fps the better.

the problem with high frame rates is that your timing will be vastly different among users. What would be fast to one user would be slow to another. On top of that, it sucks up CPU resources and lags the rest of the computer, especially for older computers (not to mention the added file size for tweens). I never use over 30, and if so, only for speed testing.
I usually use 24 for interactive work and 18 for animations. The lower the better in terms of consistency in playback.
