Hey, what do you guys say having a monthly project? We will all work together and learn from each other to complete a certain game engine. What do you say?

Of course not everybody may want to participate because of time. but everybody is welcome...

This could be a chance to develop our skills. Of course if this thread gets positive feedback we may continue to talk about the leaders of every project and the details of the project itself.

Might not be a bad idea. I wouldn't mind throwing some knowledge into you guys' mix every so often. If you need any help if you come to any major problems or anything, give me a shout.

Sounds interesting :). The only issue that might intervene, would be school. But, otherwise I would like to be a part :D!

P.S. We should come up with a group name :beam:

Yeah and the time zone... Let's get some more people to join us and we could be of to talk about the project. I'm glad you like the idea. :thumb:

that sounds like a great idea, but for the people that couldn't join we could save the trancript of the chat or even do it in a message board then all the step and everything could be saved, the people couldn't interact but if they had questions they could email others in the group

Great Idea, but it'll be pretty hard to pull off.

I imagine a project managing a group of people with so many different talents, over different timezones, all over the internet will be challenging.

Good luck though, I hope the project leader wont go crazy :)

Ummm. well we could start at an easy project to get a grip then work on our way up.

I was also thinking the same thing. But no worries i guess. We are not here to beat deadlines, we are here to learn. If a member cant do his part he can always consult other people or ask help to other members. Besides, we have marz to help us. :thumb:

lol, yeah, you can send up the bat signal whenever you need help.

It'd probably be a good idea to have a flash beginner to team up with a more experienced flasher, the experienced flasher can teach them whatever part of the project hes working on, say sprite creation, or sound editing. And then in the next project, the beginner can then actually work on that aspect, or try a different school of flash, say creating an inventory in actionscript.

Kind of like school, you'd get qualifications that would allow you to work on aspects of a monthly project.

Just a few thoughts.

I wouldn't mind opening up a small school on ActionScripting.. Free admission but only a limited number of students... And when you were done.. you'd get a certification from me?

I don't know if it would be worth anything... But.. Lemme post this idea in a poll and see what people think.

Well.. Due to some recent happenings. Marz started to put up a school. I was wondering if we could join this idea with Marz'. After every class we could do the monthly project. Besides, we're gonna learn from someone with a lot of experience and i think that it would be a lost to miss that oppurtunity. (did i spelled that correctly?)
