how to use video file in flash

Iam doing one site in flash.client asked me to put some video file in the site .but the file size is heavy .i converted that file into AVI.then i converted into swf file.is there any other way to compress the file.Iam using flash 5(or)is there any other method to download fast.................

Flash MX compress feature is da best, i dont think that u could compress ur movie more than that in an swf in flash 5 workspace!
