Get me out of here....
I am applying as a trainee in a 3d graphics House, which require some basic skill in Graphics Design, which i guess i have.
I have to send a CD of my work alongwith a resume, so What's the best way to put all my work on a CD? ...i have only 2 days... C:-) :hair:

I mean, what method i should adopt to place all my work on a CD...?

Thanks in Advance

the best way is to do a flash photo gallery and publish it as an executable...

the other way would be to use the automate> web gallery option in photoshop and copy it to a cd

the easiest way is to copy your images to a cd

Depends man, if the company you want to be working in is very neat, corporate-like, do something very straightforward (maybe just putting your images in neat, orderly folders), if it's artsy, try to do a fully working flash/director projector and blow them to shreds with the presentation itself...

if you have only 2 days, maybe you should try to work on a neat interface, and load your images into flash via xml... then as somebody suggested, make a projector and burn.

btw, good luck!

Flash is good but use Director, that's what it was made for..
I did a cd-rom resume' a few years back, I used Director because of the authoring features it has. Flash is good but Director was first..

do you have to use flash? I'd say the quickest, most stable, cross platform delivery is a simple HTML site with CSS and a repackaged PS photo gallery (as mentioned before) with only two days this is probably the most expedient means of conveying your art/design in a easy to use, understandable format, plus you know it will work on any machine :)

Be careful using flash. Make sure you include the flash installer, and perhaps a non flash version as well.

Assume the person it's for has a crappy computer with hardly any software/plugins.

I agree with 3rdeye.

If you publish your flash file as an executable you don't need to make sure of anything - that's what an executable does, it contains a flash player. Also you can create an autorun file. It's super super easy - do a search for exe or executable or autorun and you'll find it in the forums - and looks nice when your gallery launches by itself as soon as you put the cd in.

"super easy" isn't how I would describe it... there are a ton of little things (especially cross platform) that need to be addressed when throwing a projector file on a CD... 8.3 naming standard on all files, correct paths, frame rates etc. If it's a single file then maybe... but something to hold a dozen or more high resolution Images of previous work? maybe a couple flash intros?... I dunno I've done both before and I still would go HTML; for now...

How is it different than putting it on the web? If your swf works online then it works on a cd. All you have to do is include the fscommand and create a 3 line autorun.inf file. Not too hard, though you are right - I think its only an exe on a PC right? Different for a Mac?

Just saying that if you can create it in flash then you can publish as an exe and put it on a CD and you don't have to worry about flash players or plug ins or software or internet connection speed - it'll run.

you could call them and ask what pc's they are using.

that might make it easier to know what to make ur presentation with
