I am having a bit of trouble setting up an account. Got the personal info done but I am up to adding the debit card information. I am using my Commonwealth Bank bank card. Theres 17 digits on the front and then PayPal asks for 3 security digits in the back, theres nothing on the back, just the black strip and my signature... :puzzled: I tried typing all 17 digits in the "credit card" field but says i am "missing digits". Could I get help please?

each credit card has a three digit security code to help stop unotharised trasnaction as far as i know it isn't on the card. And sorry can't help you as i haven't set up a pay pall acount. try emailing the suport staff at pay pal.

Thanks for that Byrnzie :) Ok that clears some issues up. I did email PayPal Staff yesterday, received an email back today but they just ran me through the setting up. However, I clearly stated it was a debit card but... I have also emailed Commbank so Ill see what happens.

by debit card do you mean use use it for eftpos and bank withdrawals or a credit card with a debit a/c attached? i think paypal are reffering to the latter

A credit card that is linked to a debit account? omg. But then that means if I were to use a Visa or Mastercard/ American Express, it would work? Think so.

frozenRage

yeah it would work. they accept cc's from anywhere but bank a/c's only from the us

Nice to know ;)

ohh btw, one thing with the cc, if a cc is linked to a bank account, would that mean the cc is just a gateway to allow purchase of things or is there a % fee also taken into account?

It has been yeah - I emailed them a while ago and they said they would implement the same system in Australia. So it's good for those needing to use it.

just a little update, the system was pushed back a few weeks and to add funds from an australian bank account should be implemented either tomorrow or in a few days time.
